The Edmonton Oilers received Ty Emberson from the San Jose Sharks in alternate for fellow defenseman Cody Ceci and a 2025 third-round draft select.
Each groups introduced the industry on Sunday night time.
Emberson, 24, made his NHL debut final season and contributed one function, 9 assists, 46 blocks and 94 hits in 30 video games with the Sharks. He was once firstly drafted within the 1/3 around through the Arizona Coyotes in 2018.
Ceci, 30, had 25 issues (5 objectives, 20 assists) in 79 video games with the Oilers in 2023-24. He has 211 issues (48 objectives, 163 assists) in 786 profession video games with the Ottawa Senators (2013-19), Toronto Maple Leafs (2019-20), Pittsburgh Penguins (2020-21) and Edmonton.
“Cody is a cast, aggressive veteran defenseman who brings a well-rounded ability set to our workforce,” Sharks normal supervisor Mike Grier stated. “He is a robust penalty killer who too can give a contribution offensively and he brings in depth playoff enjoy. We are excited to have him sign up for our group.”
Ceci has posted 19 issues (4 objectives, 15 assists) in 88 profession Stanley Cup playoff video games. He was once a first-round draft select (fifteenth total) through Ottawa in 2012.
