U.S. Central Command says Iranian-backed Houthi militants fired a ballistic missile towards the united statesCarney within the Gulf of Aden on Friday.Â

“On Jan. 26, at roughly 1:30 p.m. (Sanaa time), Iranian-backed Houthi militants fired one anti-ship ballistic missile from Houthi-controlled spaces of Yemen towards Arleigh-Burke magnificence destroyer USS Carney (DDG 64) within the Gulf of Aden,” CENTCOM mentioned in a commentary posted on X.Â
