Avs signal Cale Makar’s brother, Taylor, to 1-year deal

The Avalanche signed Taylor Makar, more youthful brother of Colorado megastar Cale Makar, to a one-year deal on Monday.

Taylor Makar, a seventh-round pick out via Colorado in 2021, inked an entry-level contract for the 2025-26 season.

The 24-year-old ahead will report back to the AHL’s Colorado Eagles on an beginner tryout for the remainder of this season.

Taylor Makar scored 30 issues (18 objectives, 12 assists) in 38 video games for the College of Maine in 2024-25.

Cale Makar, 26, ranks 2d at the Avalanche with 84 issues (27 objectives, 57 assists) in 74 video games this season.

The 3-time All-Celebrity and 2022 Stanley Cup winner has 420 issues (113 objectives, 307 assists) in 389 occupation video games.

Cale Makar received the Calder Trophy in 2019-20 and the Norris Trophy and Conn Smythe Trophy in 2021-22.
