Biniam Girmay sprinted to victory over the overall immediately on Thursday to finish Degree 12 of the Excursion de France in Villeneuve-sur-Lot.
Girmay of Eritrea outlasted Wout van Aert of Belgium and Arnaud Demare of France to complete in 4 hours, 17 mins, 15 seconds and seize his 3rd degree of the Excursion.
Pascal Ackermann of Germany ended up in 3rd after Demare was once demoted to 67th position for pushing van Aert to the boundaries throughout the 204-km degree that introduced riders from Aurillac to Villeneuve-sur-Lot in southwestern France.
4-time Grand Excursion champion Primoz Roglic of Slovenia was once focused on his 2d crash in as many days, with Thursday’s slip-up coming close to the end line. Roglic completed 2:27 after Girmay.
