ATHENS, Ga. — The brother of Jose Ibarra, suspected within the Thursday homicide of Augusta College pupil Laken Riley, has been fired from the College of Georgia after he offered a faux inexperienced card to paintings on the college’s eating corridor.
“Diego Ibarra offered a faux inexperienced card to the hiring unit to start out a short lived place as a dishwasher in Bolton Eating Corridor on the College of Georgia on Feb. 6, 2024,” UGA spokesperson Greg Trevor advised Fox Information Virtual in a commentary.
Ibarra then did not “publish additional documentation required to stay the task and used to be by no means paid via the College” prior to he used to be “fired,” Trevor added.
A neighbor advised Fox Information Virtual that Diego Ibarra advised them he labored on the UGA eating corridor. That neighbor stated he and his brother were residing at their condominium in Athens for “about six months.”

Diego Ibarra has been arrested and charged with inexperienced card fraud. His more youthful brother, Jose, is charged with malice homicide, criminal homicide, irritated battery, irritated attack, false imprisonment, kidnapping, hindering a 911 name and concealing the demise of some other in reference to the murder of 22-year-old Riley, a nursing pupil.
