Christine King Farris, the older sister of Martin Luther King Jr., and an esteemed educator and civil rights activist in her personal proper, died Thursday at age 95, the King Heart introduced.

In 1944, a 16-year-old King Farris adopted within the footsteps of her mom, grandmother, and great-aunt by way of enrolling in Spelman School, a traditionally Black, ladies’s liberal arts school in Atlanta.
